Teaching Assistants

Instructor(s) information
List contact information for the instructor(s) and any teaching assistants or other relevant department personnel, such as administrative assistants or department secretaries. This is important because it shows the people behind the computer interface of the Web site. Students may prefer alternatives to Web-based communication tools. If there is a lot of contact information, consider creating a separate Web page.

E-mail address
Create a mailto link for the e-mail addresses of every person listed under instructor info above. Write the e-mail addresses (username@college.edu) for those users who print the page.

Phone number
Include the area code and telephone number for all relevant personnel. The area code is helpful for viewers who may wish to contact you from long distance.

Office location and hours
List the location and hours that students can meet with you and your teaching assistants. This helps to establish the idea in the user’s mind that the Web site is not detached from the people who created it and that face-to-face interaction outside the class is possible.

School information
Include a link to the college or university home page (and department home page, if applicable), the complete mailing address and telephone number with area code.

Vitae
Establish your authority to teach the course subject. So much information found on the Web can be considered bogus, untrustworthy, or from dubious sources.
