Brainstorm Idea 4 – Information Kiosks
Rationale: As a technologically enhanced city, the use of information kiosks to disseminate information and provide opportunities for learning and communication will be a valuable tool for all residents and visitors to the city.
Application: Kiosks can be incorporated into existing planned stopping points for public transportation such as bus stops and/or utilized as part of the “learning tour” as described in the idea mentioned previously. Users of the kiosk may be able to utilize a USB key where they can plug themselves in to obtain information about events, transportation schedules, etc. or even upload information directly to cell phones, PDA, laptops, etc. They may also use the kiosks to leave information for others’ learning. The possibilities are endless. We just have to identify the users (ie. young/old, Korean/international, etc.), and the purposes for use (ie. event publicity, historical/cultural learning points, geographical orientation, etc.).
