A Tale of Two Slimes

digital prints encased in plexiglas, time lapse video, oak
36" x 42" x 18"
1996

Two slime molds are compared: their habitats, life cycles, reproduction, and visual patterns as well as other traits. Each is strikingly different from the other. The one trait they share, the one that finds them in classification, is the fainst viscuous trace that they leave as they move through the world. Commissioned by The Exploratorium for Turbulent Landscapes: The Forces that Shape Our World.
