A third project with the slime mold physarum polycephalum, this one is a simple ode to the incredible beauty of its color and growth patterns. Using non-toxic dyes, I tinted the agar that the slime mold is growing on, and then taped its growth using time-lapse digital video. The agars spanned a wide range of colors, and sometimes changed the color of the slime itself. Each growth sequence represents anywhere from five hours to a day and a half. The final piece has three separately edited sequences playing side by side.
