Here are some checkpoints to consider when choosing

- Is an invention likely in the project? If so, one of the other
strategies for transfer might be better.
- Will the finding, or process, product "sell itself"?
Consider whether the potential of the product will be apparent and stand
out in contrast to alternatives if its availability is announced along
with other products that the Center is developing.
- Do you think manufacturers will seek out this product following their
initial exposure to information about its availability? If not, you will
probably have to become more involved than this strategy implies.
- Are these findings or results best suited for open distribution to
other researchers or laboratories?
