Integrated Multicode Simulation Framework

The DOE is making a significant fraction of its vast supercomputer resources available to its five ASC university research centers. The key components of the CITS program are:

CITS is organized in four groups. The research activities carried out at the center are related to the programs and the objective of the various groups.

LES
The objective of the LES group is to develop numerical methods and physical models to predict the reacting multiphase flow in a jet engine combustor.

RANS
The objective of the RANS group is to develop advanced solvers for the solution of the Unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) equations and to use these solvers to provide insights into unsteady phenomena in turbomachinery components (compressors, turbines, and secondary flow systems.)

Integration
The mission of the LES-RANS integration group is to develop the infrastructures to perform multi-code simulations and to demonstrate large-scale computations on the ASC computing systems.

Merrimac
The group aims to develop software and hardware for next generation scientific computing.
