Registration

Monday, April 29th, 2013

Dear advisors and head delegates,

As Secretary General and Executive Director, it gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the Stanford Model United Nations Conference of 2014. The conference is set for October 17 – 19. Preparations are well under way, and we speak for all SMUNC leadership when we say we are incredibly excited for the conference!

To register, please use this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1qZVrDJWFudYKn0OsnBu-Yli-93KkGHmEf3rjmkLbf3s/viewform

We have three periods of registration: Early, Regular, and Late. Fees for Early Registration (payments postmarked BEFORE May 15th) are US$80 per delegation and US$65 per delegate. Regular Registration (payments postmarked BEFORE August 15th) fees are US$90 per delegation and US$75 per delegate. Late Registration is US$100 per delegation and US$80 per delegate. This is the price per delegate at the time of registration (ie. If you were to register 10 delegates before May 15th and then 10 more before August 15th, you would pay the $65/delegate for the first ten and $75/delegate for the second ten).

After you fill out the form, we will send you an invoice with instructions on how to make your payment. Registration is not considered complete until we receive your payment. All payments are final. You will also receive a followup email from us asking you about your committee preferences.

For any questions, concerns, or other communication with us, our Director of Delegate Affairs, Akosua Busia, will be your primary contact. If you need anything, please email her at smunc.delegateaffairs@gmail.com.

Welcome to SMUNC 2014! We’re looking forward to your participation.

Sincerely,

He also served as the Development Chair for the Society for International Affairs at Stanford. He’s looking forward to directing another great year of SMUNC, and to the varied committees, high-level debate, and fundraising opportunities that accompany the conference each year.

He enjoys reading and music, playing zhongruan and daruan in Stanford’s Chinese Music Ensemble. Joe is very passionate about the environment, especially with regard to energy policy and climate change. It is in large part from this that his passion for Model UN and choice of major stems. In SMUNC 2013, he served as the Crisis Director for French Revolution of 1789. He had an amazing experience working in that committee and is excited to work with the rest of the SMUNC secretariat to ensure that this year’s conference is an excellent challenging, learning, and fun experience for all of this year’s delegates.

Timothy is a member of the class of 2017 prospectively majoring in Biology and Economics. He hopes that in this rapidly converging world, an interdisciplinary pathway will provide a unique insight to international issues. Timothy grew up in Taipei, Taiwan, and attended his first Model UN conference during sophomore year. He founded the first Model UN Program in his high school, and is passionately intrigued by the educational value of the special forum of real time geo-political problem solving that is Model United Nations. This year, he’s excited to work with the rest of the secretariat, striving to achieve the Aristotelian mean between style and substance in order to advocate for this particularly thrilling form of international affairs learning.
