In the sixth grade, I attended a brand new school: Nova Elementary.
At a dedication ceremony that all the students attended, we planted a bottlebrush tree.
For this occasion, I wrote a poem in rhymed couplets. (I think it was part of an assignment.)
I remember it began,

"This is the story of what happened to me
On the day that we planted the bottlebrush tree."
(The next two lines rhymed "cold" and "bold".)

I cannot think of bottlebrush trees without thinking of that experience.

Now there is a bottlebrush, just outside of my building in the Stanford Quad.
It is depicted above.

I am not sure how to distinguish bottlebrush (Genus Melaleuca) from crimson bottlebrush (Genus Callistemon) = same tribe.
