CAS Source Index (CASSI) Search Tool — Free Web Version Now Available
The CASSI search tool is a free, web-based resource that can serve as a companion tool to CASSI on CD. This search tool provides easy access for basic journal and abbreviation lookups, while CASSI on CD will provide additional functionality and data such as holdings information, DDS availability, certain record details, and archival ability. Search by Title, Abbreviation, CODEN, ISBN, or ISSN. Note that there is a limit of 50 answers per search, so it is recommended that you make your search as specific as possible.

CASSI on CD — Full Version Available via CDSERVER
Updated every 6 months, CASSI on CD includes:

  • Bibliographic information for approximately 80,000 publications indexed by CA since 1907
  • Serial and non-serial scientific and technical publications
  • Complete publication titles for abbreviations used in CA
  • More than 155,000 entries, mainly for periodicals
  • A choice of many search terms, i.e., author name, keyword, CODEN, etc., for easy access to the bibliographic information

Locate English translations of journal titles. Not only does CASSI on CD provide the full title for journal abbreviations, but CASSI also provides an English translation for non-English titles.

CASSI is available at Stanford via CDSERVER. A networked version of the CASSI CD-ROM is available via a web browser and a Citrix plugin. The website is called CDSERVER. First time visitors will need to download and install the Citrix plugin. Login with SUNet ID, go to Chemistry folder and choose CASSI.
