Steps To Disclose and Patent an Invention

In order to obtain a patent, you will need to

• disclose the invention (unless the invention is unrelated to VA work and was accomplished on your own time without VA facilities)
  
  
• prepare a chronological list of events and witnesses
  
  
• execute a patent application.
