Parents and Children attend d.loft STEM Workshop

    Thursday, February 23, 2012

The d.loft STEM project conducted a "taste of design thinking" workshop for parents and children at Bayside S.T.E.M. Academy in San Mateo, CA. The workshop focused on introducing design thinking through a challenge to "redesign the morning experience." Children and parents all had morning stress, and enjoyed designing solutions for each other. Solutions included automatic dog feeders, specialized clocks for managing morning time, and clothing and furniture for keeping children cozy as they were being woken up and going through pre-school time morning activities.  There was a special visit from the Superintendent of Schools.

The workshop was a "warm up" for the week-long school intersession d.loft camp that will take place at the school starting March 26th.
