I've been trying to clone the amino truncated, constitutively active form of Beta catenin into a couple of different plasmid vectors but have been unsuccessful thus far.  Does anyone know if this is somehow a lethal protein in bacteria?  Any advice or do I have to use a retroviral vector which seems to be more common for expressing this protein in mammalian cells?
