JOINING THE AXELROD LAB AS A POSTDOC
PhD students are encouraged to contact me about postdoctoral opportunities as far in advance as possible, ideally one year in advance of their desired start date. I seek to recruit creative, independent and highly motivated scientists, and encourage you to write with ideas you might have for projects related to work in my lab. Postdocs are expected to apply for independent fellowships, although funds from grants to the lab may also be available to support fellows. By Stanford University policy, candidates should in most cases have less than 2 years of postdoctoral experience. When inquiring about positions, please email a statement of research interests and professional goals, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and contact information for three references to: Jeff Axelrod.

JOINING THE AXELROD LAB AS A GRADUATE STUDENT
I am currently accepting graduate students. The Graduate Bioscience Admissions program coordinates all graduate admissions in the biological sciences at Stanford. Please consult their website for the current application procedures. If you are interested in joining my lab, be sure to list me as a potential advisor on your application form and indicate "Cancer Biology" as your home program choice.

JOINING THE AXELROD LAB AS AN UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT
Undergraduates interested in cell biology, developmental biology, or cell signaling are especially encouraged to inquire about joining the lab. Please email Dr. Axelrod with your interests and we will arrange a meeting to discuss projects. Sophomores can also apply for a summer research position in the lab through the VPUE Program. Note that this lab is a better fit if you are excited about the possibility of becoming a scientist, rather than if you are looking to 'get some experience' before applying to medical school.
