Using Ring Again on a Multi-line Phone

With Ring Again, you can instruct the phone system to notify you when the person you called is no longer busy with another call (used when encountering a busy signal after dialing a Stanford phone).

Note: If you do not have a Ring Again button, click here.

Activate Ring Again after receiving a busy signal

  1. Press: Ring Again
    The diamond indicator next to the Ring Again key is solid and the diamond indicator next to your DN goes out. Wait for distinctive ringing and the diamond indicator next to the Ring Again key to flash, indicating that neither you nor the other party are using your phones.

Respond after hearing distinctive ringing

(Lift your handset.)

  1. Press: Ring Again
    The phone number is automatically redialed and the diamond indicator next to the Ring Again key goes out. If you do not press the Ring Again key within 18 seconds, the Ring Again request is automatically cancelled.

Cancel before hearing distinctive ringing

  1. Press: Ring Again
    The diamond indicator next to the Ring Again key goes out and the Ring Again request is cancelled.
