Using Speed Call on a Single-line Phone

Speed Call (also known as speed dial) allows you to dial frequently called phone numbers by pressing a pre-programmed button or entering a single-digit entry code. (An "entry code" can be any single-digit number from 0 through 9. Programmed telephone numbers can be up to 24 digits.*)

There are two methods for speed calling available on campus:

1. All campus phones with phone service levels "C" and "D" have speed call available as part of the service package (see Programming Speed Call Numbers/Entry Codes, below), and
2. ATC Impression telephone sets in common use on campus have 20 programmable keys which can be used instead of or in addition to regular speed call (see Programming ATC Keys).

Programming speed call numbers/entry codes

1. Dial: * 9 3
   You hear three beeps followed by dial tone.
   
   
2. Dial: entry code + phone number + #
   You hear two beeps and can hang up. The phone number is stored.
   

Dial a programmed number

1. Lift: your handset
   
   
2. Dial: * + entry code (associated with the phone number to dial)
   The appropriate phone number is automatically dialed
