Modeling, Simulation and Optimization of the end-to-end IEM Wireless Link

Has to be one of the coolest med tech companies in the world: it is basically digitizing the pill and consequently, medical adherence. A battery-less sensor is embedded onto the pill and uses the stomach fluid to generate a potential difference which can be sensed by the receiving patch worn on the torso. It was an amazing experience and a great start-up experience.

Projects

Proteus makes an Ingestible Event Marker (IEM) or a sensor pill that talks to a patch worn on the torso. I worked on the Coil Project as part of the Advanced Technology Division with the LW2 team (who were amazing mentors) in redesigning the Pill-Patch system. My roles involved circuit design, electro-magnetics & optimization. The Version 2 in the pipeline will have the receiver to be a wearable that need not be stuck to the body.
