Postdoctoral Scholar

Matilde obtained her PhD in the laboratory of Prof. Bukau at the University of Heidelberg (Germany), where she investigated co-translational assembly mechanisms that guide faithful protein complex biogenesis. She co-developed a high resolution technology to profile interactions of proximal nascent subunits across the human proteome and used it in combination with bioinformatic and biochemical approaches to characterize the prevalence and mechanistic basis of this assembly mode.

As a Postdoctoral fellow, Matilde will investigate how genome organization contributes to post-transcriptional events. She will use synthetic yeast to study the consequences of abrupt changes to genome organization on RNA fate, in order to improve our understanding of the functional properties of genome architecture.
