Tony has earned his BSc in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Amsterdam during which he interned at the RNA Biology and Applied Bioinformatics group, analyzing hippocampal small RNAseq data for a project on early life stress in mice. He proceeded with his current MSc program Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences at Utrecht University. There, he joined the Human Genetics group of Prof. Dr. Edwin Cuppen as a masters intern, where he worked on generating CRISPR/CAS9 induced knockouts in intestinal stem cells to study stem cell genomic instability and its implications in cancer. Tony joined the Steinmetz lab in September 2019 and in his current internship, he is working on the phenotyping of multiplexed CRISPR/CAS9 experiments in yeast at the Stanford Genome Technology Center.
