Life Science Research Assistant

Michelle obtained a B.S. degree in biochemistry at the University of California, Davis. She is working on generating a genome-wide map of transcription start and end sites across human individuals (HapMap cell lines) to establish how the choice of transcript isoforms affects gene expression, and how DNA variants determine start and end sites. The work is part of the International HapMap Project, a multi-country effort to identify and catalog genetic similarities and differences in human beings.
