Question: Where can I find a computer with statistical analysis software, like Stata, SPSS, or SAS?

Answer: 

All Stanford cluster computers (in Green, Meyer, other libraries, residences and in Tressider) have a full suite of statistical analysis and mathematical software (SUNet ID required). In addition to SAS, SPSS, and Stata, the Stanford cluster computers also have:

  • Amos
  • ArcGIS
  • Maple
  • Mathematica
  • MATLAB
  • NVivo
  • R

  • iPoll databank @ the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research: IPoll is a comprehensive, up-to-date source for US nationwide public opinion. A full-text retrieval system, the iPoll online database is organized at the question level, providing the tools to sift through nearly a half million questions asked on national public opinion surveys, 1935 to present.
  • Historical statistics of the United States: the standard source for quantitative indicators of American history. Click on the Online link for digital database
  • Proquest Statistical Insight: Provides abstracts and indexes of statistical information from over 100,000 U.S. government publications from 1973, state and private sources from 1980, and approximately 2000 documents from international organizations from 1983. Includes index to international statistics.
  • FIRST: an integrated database system that offers "up-to-date and clearly documented information covering many areas in the field of international relations and security, such as hard facts on states and international organizations, statistics, chronologies and data on, for example, conflicts, arms transfers and military expenditure."
  • Polling the Nations: A database of polls taken on a variety of subjects all over the world. Each record in the database consists of one poll question and the participants' responses.
