The textbooks for my class are on back order at the bookstore. Does the library have copies?
The library does not specifically order textbooks for classes, but professors often put a copy of the textbooks on reserve. The reserve location can depend on the course subject (e.g., books for chemistry courses are generally put on reserve in Swain Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Library). You can check course reserves in the online reserve catalog. Searchworks will also indicate if a textbook you are looking for is on reserve.

How can I mail something to a specific building at Stanford? I don't know what mail codes and ZIP codes to use.
The basic Stanford ZIP code is 94305, and you tack on the Stanford mail code after that. For example, the Law School's mail code is 8610, so you'd list the ZIP as 94305-8610. If you have a SUNet ID, you can see all of the mail codes here. If you don't have a SUNet ID, you'll need someone (like the folks at the Green Library Information Desk) to look them up for you.

I'm looking for children's books for my child to read. Does Stanford have any?
Stanford has many children’s books, including most of the winners of the following awards:
In the Cubberley Education Library, you can find them in the North Reading Room, the older ones upstairs and the newer ones downstairs. The collection has been expanded and they will be getting even more of the many award-winning books. They can be checked out.
There are also collections of children’s books in Green Library Special Collections, including the Mary L. Schofield Collection of Children’s Literature.
