How do I find The New York Times online?

Answer:

Recently the NYT changed its policy on online access. You now have the following choices:

  • Go to nytimes.com and see 10 (ten) full-text articles a month for free.
  • From the Searchworks record, find fulltext options from our databases. Factiva has the latest two weeks of NYT and other major newspapers. See the Infocenter desk for clues on searching articles back to 1980 in Factiva.
  • Purchase a digital subscription at 50% discount. Home delivery is also discounted. Stanford students, faculty, and staff must use their university email addresses and log on to this site: http://www.nytimes.com/collegeDS

Articles from 1851 to 2007 are available through: New York Times: archive.

The NYT does not now offer any institutional membership option for nytimes.com.
