low-density lipoproteins (LDL)

Commonly known as ‘bad cholesterol’. LDLs are made of lipids and proteins, with more lipid than protein. They carry cholesterol and fat through the bloodstream. High levels are associated with an increased risk of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease.
