In the summer of 2013 we got a new storage system. Build details here: https://www.stanford.edu/group/su-hpc/cgi-bin/mediawiki/index.php/Barley-storage02_build

The storage is a total of 130T run on ZFS, mounted on /tank/ on barley-storage02. 30TB are set aside for Research Computing's future use, so 100TB available. This storage is intended to be scratch storage and is NOT backed up.

We mount it on all the FarmShare Machines at /srv/zfs01.

Then we symlink /farmshare/software to /srv/zfs01/software and we symlink /farmshare/user_data/ to /srz/zfs01/user_data/

Primary goals:

  1. expand storage available to users
  2. retire the volume /mnt/glusterfs
  3. move to 'lmod' from 'module'
