Restful web APIS

Speaker(s):

You work with APIs every day, from Twitter to Salesforce. You know that APIs can be a powerful tool for marshalling disparate resources across diverse platforms. But when it comes time to develop and deploy your own APIs you need to get it right the first time. A badly designed API can cause more problems than it solves, and could leave you with one more legacy system that is difficult to maintain and impossible to scale. In this session we will talk about the principles of good API design for web services. We'll talk about common protocols and architectures (REST, SOAP, XML-RPC), and how to plan your API for scalability and security.
