Eating disorders (past and present) and body image concerns are common and disabling problems among students. In Fall 2010 the Healthy Eating and Body Image Consortium, an interdisciplinary group of administrators, staff, faculty, and students, was organized to empower the student population to embrace a balanced relationship with food, exercise and body image, and to foster awareness and collaboration in the broader Stanford community about the importance of preventing and treating eating disorders. This led to the development of the Stanford Healthy Body Image Program, funded by the Office of the President, which oversees and oversaw the activities of the Consortium. The temporary funding from the Office of the President ended in Spring 2013.  As of fall 2015, the Healthy Body Image Consortium continues to meet quarterly at the Vaden Health Center.  We welcome students, faculty and staff with a passion of creating and sustaining a positive body and eating culture at Stanford.
