Summer Housing Guarantee

Stanford University offers a guarantee of a summer University housing assignment for single undergraduates and single graduate students. It does not ensure assignment to a specific residence or assignment in the first round of the process, but you will receive an assignment by the end of the first week of classes if you meet certain criteria.  Couples without children and students with children are not guaranteed an assignment, but most applicants are assigned to housing each summer.

Single Undergraduates
Students are guaranteed housing if they apply by the first-round deadline and indicate on their applications that they are willing to live in any residence for which they are eligible. Students who apply after this date will be considered for assignment in the order their applications are received, with priority given to enrolled students.

Single Graduate Students
Students are guaranteed housing if they apply by the first-round deadline and indicate on their applications that they are willing to live in any residence for which they are eligible. Students who apply after this date will be considered for assignment in the order their applications are received, with priority given to enrolled students.

Couples without Children
Students are not guaranteed housing, but can usually all be accommodated.  Chances of being assigned to on-campus housing are improved if students apply by the first-round deadline and indicate on their applications that they are willing to live in any residence for which they are eligible. Students who apply after the first-round deadline will be considered for assignment in the order their applications are received, with priority given to enrolled students.
