Introduction to Sports Investing

Like many others, you probably sit down to enjoy a sports event on television or attend a local sporting event. Now, not only will you be having fun watching games, but you will also be making money in the process! Kill two birds with one stone!

In sports gambling (as in other forms of gambling), the key is to discipline yourself, to only wager on the games that you are confident about, and to be aggressive, yet conservative. Do NOT chase losses (trying to win back money on bets you are unsure of, or bet in anger.) Take advantage of your opportunities because they will come and go, but don't blow your load on one game. Again, I must warn you-IF sports gambling is interfering with other aspects of your life, please do yourself a favor and STOP immediately. A word of caution before we begin:

You may be tempted to buy picks from "professional handicappers" who are on a "100-game winning streak, or win 99% of their games, blah blah blah." Now, think to yourself, if they were so great in making picks, why would they need to charge for their picks? Wouldn't they be best served to not waste their time and money in advertising their services? The bottom line is that many of the claims made are BOGUS and that you should not give your money to any services that ask for payment in exchange for picks. Most professionals in the long run will be lucky to win 60% of the time, so any claims that sound too good to be true are just that.
