It took me 3000 miles of flight and 3 hours of nauseating boat trip to see this tiny pelagic bird on a small island in the Atlantic. A mysterious bird for years since they were only spotted when they bred in the remote islands like Machias Seal Island during summer. No one knows where they are for rest of the year. However, when you face them up close and in person, they are marvelously animated and cute. My encounter with them was short but the experience will be treasured by me for life. This was my second trip to Machias Seal Island. I did not make it to the land the first time due to high sea.
