Great Egrets are loners. From the northern Mississippi in Minnesota to Gulf of Mexico, they like to have the fishing ground to themselves. Though a giant in the egret family, they move with tremendous tenderness and precision. On this typical sunny Bay area afternoon, this loner moved swiftly and elegantly along the sea water filled marsh in Shoreline at Mountain View , trying to catch an aquatic prey.
