Ta Yue Peak (7800 feet) is the highest point of the Central Transverse Passway, which transects into the heart of the alpine country from West to East. This is just a rest stop for most of the travelers using the Passway, but a heaven for birders due to its easy access. Unfortunately, the bird population around Ta Yue Peak and the vicinal Pine Snow Station has been in decline in the recent years because of over-development and heavy recreational use. I have been in Ta Yue Peak to birding a few dozen times and decided to give it a try taking some pictures without birds in it.
