Acorn Woodpecker is no doubt the most interesting woodpecker in the States both in its appearance and its behavior. The marvilous face pattern makes it like belonging to a circus. They are also very vocal indeed. Their name originate from the behavior collecting acorns. They drill numerous holes on the tree trunk, and stick all the collected acorns in these small storing chambers.
