Vinith Misra is a graduate student pursuing a PhD in Stanford University's Department of Electrical Engineering, under the generous support of a Stanford Graduate Fellowship.   His research interests include information theory, signal processing, and mixed-signal circuits.  More broadly, he is interested in work at the intersection of electrical engineering and other fields.  The connections that arise are often quite deep.

Before arriving at Stanford, he obtained M.Eng and S.B. degrees from MIT in Electrical Engineering.  His M.Eng thesis, regarding the quantization of data for computation, was awarded the David Adler first place M.Eng thesis prize in Electrical Engineering.  His S.B. came with no such honors.  Prior to MIT, Vinith graduated as one of nearly two dozen valedictorians from Mission San Jose High School, whose reputation was at the time tarnished by several well publicized cheating and hacking scandals.  Of which he claims to have had no part.
