Postcards
Here is a place for my postcards. My whole life
(not really) I have been enamoured by postcards. My grandfather had
a draw of old ones sent by his relatives as they traveled across Europe
so long. One day, back when Travis and I had just started dating
I found in his house a copy of Griffin and Sabine by Nick Bantock.
We became so intrigued! Not only did the story move me but, I felt
such elation that the concept of the postcard had not completely degenerated
to glossy over-colorized frames of desert sunsets.
Mr. Bantock became my secret hero of mysticism and
romanticism throughout college. Now I have found a good combination
of media and ideas to make my cards. This is not London nor the Sicmon
Islands, but it is a taste of what is inside me.
