PWR2 E-Rhetoric Feedback

PWR2 E-Rhetoric Feedback

As we finish up this quarter, I'm starting to think about ways in which to streamline
e-rhetoric for the Winter students. To this end, I would love your feedback on certain
aspects of the course. Please fill out as much as you feel you can in the form below --
unless you decide to enter your name, your answers will be totally anonymous. I really appreciate
your ideas, suggestions, and feedback!

Your name (optional):

Presentations
1. For this course, you had a final group presentation. Given that part of the requirement for PWR2
is for each student to complete at least two formal presentations, would you have preferred to have
a final individual presentation or did you like the group format? Please explain your answer.

2. How could your experience in learning how to do oral/multimedia presentations have been improved?

3. Did you feel like the OCTs were well-utilized in this course? What were the best aspects about the
OCTs? What could be improved in relation to their role in the course?

Hypertext
1. For this course, you were asked to focus your research project on a topic related to e-rhetoric
or digital culture. Would you have preferred to have a more completely open prompt (i.e., you could choose
any topic you wanted to work with and convert into a research hypertext, whether it was related to digital
culture or not)? Please explain your answer.

2. How can I better facilitate the smooth and painless completion of the hypertext project?

3. This quarter, I offered a total of 4 extra tech-office hours in the evenings. Was this sufficient tech support for the
hypertext project? What suggestions can you make in this regard?

Miscellaneous
1. Do you feel that you will be able to apply the lessons about rhetoric we learned in this class to other texts
besides hypertexts and oral presentations? Please explain your answer and make some suggestions if your answer is "no".

2. If you could improve anything (or things) about the course (within reason), what would it/they be?

3. What thing or things worked best about the course that I should definitely do again next quarter? This could
be a reading, an assignment, a lesson plan, a class activity, etc.

4. In the spring, I'm playing around with two different course ideas for a PWR2 class. One is on the Rhetoric of
Advertising in which students would create their own print ads and commercials. The other is on photography and
the power of photos, in which students create their own multimedia photoessays. Which do you think would be the
better course, given your perspective as a PWR2 (almost) graduate?
