..., well, no news. Not that the last week has been uneventful; on the contrary, being in a car accident (which I smartly refer to as a "Sentra Sandwich", as all three cars involved were Nissan Sentras, but I digress) is news, but I'm ok, and it wasn't my fault, and aside from that, there didn't seem to be anything to write about, nor any new pictures of the darling brats to post.
So, to convince myself that I haven't lost interest in this blog (I haven't), I thought I'd post this.
So that's that. (And I really love Buffy, but I sure do miss Giles. Every day.)
Well, it finally happened: our last "first" birthday. Oliver officially turned one yesterday. We didn't really have a party; just some family and neighbors over for presents and cake. To see pictures from the bash, click on the picture to the left, or here.
We've been trying out this combination cell-phone/palm pda at work called the Treo 600. At first, I wasn't very impressed with it, but after using it for a day or so, I want one.
Anyway, it has a cheesy, low-quality camera built into it, and so I've taken some snaps with it. The picture quality really sucks; you get better images out of a disposable camera, but since it is built into the phone, it is pretty convenient.
So, to see the pix I've taken with it, click on the image to the left, or here.
Here's another photo album with pix of the kids coloring Easter eggs, and a few of Buffy being a wild animal. To view the album, click on the picture to the left, or here.
Well, it didn't take long, and I'm glad for that, but also pretty sad. Giles has a new family, according to the Golden State Greyhound group's website, and I guess that they're keeping the name, since that is what they are calling him there.

I hope they love him as much as we did. Good luck, big boy.

Three weeks, 1700 paving stones, three cubic yards of sand, two rentals of big, heavy and scary machines, and we finally finished the patio. Its not perfect (ok, that's an understatement) but we did it ourselves, and we're pretty far from perfect, too.
We still have to replace some sod, plant some growing things, and pray for something to bring the rest of our lawn back to life, but I don't even want to think about that now.
Well, it'll be two weeks tomorrow, and Giles is now up for adoption. You can see him on Golden State Greyhound Adoption's "available dogs" page, fifth dog down. (His racing name was "Force Speed", though GSGA seems to think it was just "Force"). They seem to have a lot of dogs available ... I hope he finds some really nice people to live with.
They say about him, " This ex-racer is already house trained and ready for his new home. He is a great hound but not good with cats but as you can see he is great with other dogs. Even those who want to eat him. He will be fun and will want to be with you all the time." Kara is a bit concerned that it doesn't say anything about being "kid-friendly", but I assume that Stu will screen potential adopters better then he did us. :-(
If whomever adopts him somehow finds this website, I'd really love to hear from them, and I'd be happy to tell them about my ex-Giles. I doubt they'll ever find this page, but for Google's sake, "Force Speed ... Ear mark 80A 91052 ... Sire Its Aclevercatch ... Dam Strategic Leader." Hmmm, my first attempt at Google bombing. Doubt it'll work.
Anyway, here's the pic they have of him on the GSGA site. Good luck, big boy ... I still miss you.
I've just posted the first "photo album." These pictures were taken at Michael St. Germain's 6th birthday party, on April 3rd. To view the album, click on the picture, or here.
If you want to print any of the pix, let me know, because I have the higher resolution copies of them, which will look much better when printed.
