Prof. Stan Christensen

I've taken this knockout class called Negotiation. One of the most practical and useful courses on campus, this class teaches us to use a framework for principled negotiation.

Prof. Stan Christensen teaches this class. He spends half his time negotiating in the real world and the other half teaching at Stanford. It is just amazing to listen to all of Stan's stories. He has negotiated hostage situations, between Russia and the breakaway republics, between Israel and Palestine as well as financial mergers,.. In short, he's all over the negotiation map.

Stan, like all of the great professors at Stanford, is an amazing listener. He listens intently to every student's comment and gives profound feedback.

I think from all of Stanford professors, if there's one thing I am going to learn, it is the art of listening. This class was super fun, negotiated with so many of my classmates - learned something from every one of them - Andrew Chacko, Douglas Mackinnon, Ashwini Doshi, Alec Stewart, Jessica Bledin, Jacqueline Dozier, Stephanie Tsai, Corinne Bright, Cormack Gordon and others. People made such thoughtful comments in class. Our TA Kate was very insightful and helped us have a great learning experience.
