seismic analysis >
Aftershock> Fall 2005 - Present
I developed (and still maintain) this application for the Earthquake Studies Office at the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology. It is designed to simplify the task of identifying, analyzing, and reporting automatically detected earthquakes.
safety awareness >
Safety Stoplight System> Spring-Summer 2007
This project started as a small "intern challenge" to create a way of digitally displaying safety messages. By the time the project was over, however, it had morphed into a patent-pending, company-wide safety reporting and notification system.
release management >
OIP Release System> Spring 2007
I created this program for my team at Caterpillar to manage its software release process. The app serves two purposes: to make it easier for the team to release new programs to the web, and to make it easier for users to find and download the program they want.
genetic optimization >
ChannelTuner> Spring 2006
Also developed for the ESO, this program uses artificial intelligence (in the form of a genetic algorithm) to "tune" earthquake detection software and make it more accurate. It has been used by the ESO to reduce the number of "false positive" earthquakes detected each day.
enterprise services >
WARP Subscription Services> Summer 2005
I wrote this program to integrate with a larger Business Process Management system at Micron Technology. It was my first enterprise-level web application, written using J2EE. The program provides notifications to users involved in the development of next-generation DRAM products.
