Technology and Future of III-V Multi-Junction Solar Cells (Optoelectronics)

Spring 2005:  In Optoelectronics, I chose to do the term paper on multi-junction solar cells made out of III-V semiconductors.  I researched the basic principles of multi-junction solar cells and design considerations including material selection for a proper bandgap distribution and matched lattice constant.  I performed a calculation to determine the proper thickness of each layer in the multi-junction solar cell.
