As a grad student at Georgia Tech, I worked as a research assistant in the optical networking group at Georgia Tech headed by Gee-Kung Chang. I developed an analytical frequency and time domain simulation for optical packet generation and optical label swapping. The simulation in Matlab analyzed a method for possible methods for generating an optical packet using optical carrier suppression and separation and optical label swapping. The research involved optoelectronics, digital communication, and digital signal processing. The analysis was a part of the group's effort to develop an all optical router for the next generation internet.
