What:
Construction of dams and wells in small villages
One dam and one well per village
Collect rain from the monsoon

Where:
Small villages south of Mumbai (Bombay) that lack adequate water supplies
Who:
Rotary and SHARE fund and oversee projects
When:
Construction starts in January, ends in May
Most labor (digging and other preparatory work) occurs before funding is provided
Dams and wells provide service indefinitely
Why:
Benefits vastly outweigh costs
Government provision is a poor alternative given corruption and misaligned incentives
Villages lack funds to purchase necessary materials
