Dr. Silvia Console Battilana

I am currently in the Silicon Valley, enjoying the sun. After my Stanford PhD, I started two companies, high stakes auctions company Auctionomics with world auction expert Paul Milgrom, and social auctions for a social cause company xSwan, with Ulrich Gall and Anusheel Bhushan.

At Auctionomics, our clients range from governments needing help in designing and running an auction to fortune 500 companies needing assistance in procuring, selling or bidding in a high stakes auction. The Economist magazine describes one of Paul Milgrom's successes in saving $1,2 billion to a client when bidding in a spectrum auction. In 2012 we were selected to help the FCC design and implement the incentive auction(link). Paul was already the main architect of the original US spectrum auction design.

At xSwan, we help non profits raise money with fun interactive and invite only social auctions online. If you are a non profit, or would like to help a non profit by donating auction items, please let me know!

During my academic years I was working on game theory and lobbying and had been invited as a speaker at major US universities such as Harvard, Caltech and Berkeley, as well as universities in Turkey, China, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Italy, Mexico and Spain. Before Auctionomics, I was a Visiting Professor at Boccioni University.

In my free time I love traveling to underdeveloped countries, learning languages, reading, playing beach volley tournaments, water polo, skiing, and organizing event. I had a lot of fun co-founding the first Samasource gala, as well as the first TEDxSV. Both events have continued successfully over the years.
