Slime molds
Looking online, I have found significant ambiguities in the classification of slime molds.
Here is one version:

This seems to be one of the more commonly found and photographed slime molds, but it displays quite a range of diversity in its appearance.

This specimen was incredibly evanescent. Several hours after this photo the colony had turned dark and dry.
