I was trying to figure out what to do with my 11 hour layover from the U.S. en route to
Nairobi, Kenya.
At some point I just knew it would be Kew.
It had an auspicious beginning as I looked out of the window of my "Tube train" (quite a misnomer at this point, as
we were riding above ground) and I saw a red fox - the kind that I thought existed in books but not in real life - in
the outskirts of England!
Although I was ridiculously tired and jet lagged (and the worst was yet to come) this
was an
awesome day and a great choice. I can't wait to go back.
All photos are taken at the Kew Gardens, on July 20, 2004 in Oxford, using a Canon digital rebel.
