Because conducting, teaching, performance, administrative, and master class obligations as Director of Choral Studies and Chair of the Department of Music at Stanford University keeps his schedule packed, Steve must respectfully decline most performing invitations. However, he is able to squeeze in a few gigs each year.

Steve appears on the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) CD "Kai Palaoa." This enhanced CD contains a music video of never-before-seen whale footage filmed by NOAA. A portion of the proceeds from this CD will support the Kokua Hawai'i Foundation and the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sacntuary's education programs.
