Opportunities
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar in Imaging Informatics. We are developing novel approaches in imaging informatics, through the application of analytic and interpretive methods to extract biomedical information from images to characterize disease and to predict the effectiveness of treatments. The researcher will develop methods to annotate, process, and analyze radiology images to discover image-based indicators of human disease, and will develop decision support methods that will transform medical care. This exciting work will be guided by multidisciplinary collaborations with top scientists in imaging and cancer research at Stanford.
Requirements
Post-graduate degree (MD or PhD) and training in Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline with a background in imaging science and a record of distinguished scholarly achievement . Strong problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and software development experience, with specific skills in C++ and Java are required. Programming skills on the Apple platform is desirable. A background in biomedicine and radiology in particular is a strong plus. Prior experience with image processing, clinical databases, XML, text-mining, and knowledge representation is desirable. Applicants must possess good communication skills and be fluent in both spoken and written English.
