Biography


I'm a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech and a hell of an engineer.
A helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva, hell of an engineer.

Richard Yoo is a Ph.D. student at Stanford University, EE department. His research is dedicated to computer architecture, especially on unleashing the parallelism of multi-core CPUs. He works for Professor Christos Kozyrakis on the projects concerning PPL.

Richard earned his Master's degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2008, under the supervision of Professor Hsien-Hsin S. Lee. His thesis title was "Adaptive Transaction Scheduling for Transactional Memory Systems."

Before coming to Georgia Tech, he was a system programmer and natural language processing researcher at Information Retrieval Lab, NHN Corp., Korea, which serves Korea's most popular web search engine Naver.

He earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering degree from Seoul National University, Korea in 2003. He also holds a minor degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He was born in Iowa.
