HOME INTRODUCTION CLIMATE LIFE CULTURE TRANSPORTATION

Inner Mongolia has a temperate continental monsoonal climate with four distinct seasons because it is far from sea, its high terrain and obstrucion of mountain. It has long, cold winters. Summer is short but hot. Know as the "arctic in China" , the temperature's record low is -50°C in winter and 40°C in summer.

It is windy in all seasons, especially in springand winter. When you are on horseback, if "Bai mao feng" comes (that is snow, ice mixed with strong wind) you can not see your horsehead and tail. Everything is frozen in winter, including eye drops and kerosene lamp.

Summer is always nice there. Embellished with all kinds of wild flowers, the boundless grassland looks more beautiful than ever after rain. Sometimes it is a blue sky with a few white clouse floating , in a twinkle, wind and rain sweeping across a gloomy sky.
