Notes: There appears to be a number of discrepancies in the on-line lineages for this participant (and for O233, his 2nd cousin). For example, Henry Baughman (b. 1750) has two quite different death dates, and it is uncertain if one is just wrong or if two different Henry Baughman's have been confused. Also, the ancestral Jacob who migrated from Switzerland is said to be the Jacob Buckman listed in Swiss records from Canton Zurich and and on the ship lists. But Buckman is a different name from Bachmann in Switzerland, even though they might have both been Americanized as Baughman. The fact that the y-chromosomes of descendants who went to Kentucky match a Bachmann from Switzerland, leads one to wonder if the Henry Baughman who settled in Greenbriar, VA was indeed descended from Jacob Buckman of Schottekin.

Some research on this family has been done by Phillip Hamman descendants. Phillip Hamman's wife Christian Cook is believed to be the daughter of Anna Baughman, who was the daughter of Jacob Baughman/Buckman and sister of Henry (1725) above. The following note is copied from a Rootsweb Family Tree:

Printed in "The Phillip Hamman Echo", newsletter of the Phillip Hamman Family Association of America, No. 56, Summer 2003, page 4 is a copy of a document written in German found in Elgz Parish, Switzerland, 1658-1817 Vitals, Page 441, Marriages, translated at SLC FHC by Swiss Missionary. It reads as follows: "Jacob Buckman married Susahhan Schwizier 21 Jan 1721, born 26 July 1693. She died and he married her sister, Margreth Schwizler, wife #2, 8 Mar 1721, Saturday, 'without celebration or fanfare' because they were still in mourning from the death of first wife Susannah". On page 5 of the same newsletter is the following: "According to immigration records, Jacob brough this family to Philadelphia, PA, 1744. They lived in Berks Co.PA."
