Fractint

Fractint is a very easy to use program that works with fractals. It was (and still mostly is) a DOS program with a large base of supported resolutions. The available number of fractal types also is quite large. Fractint is basically a display engine that has the "standard" fractal types built in. It is completely customizable and your very own fractal can be included. In fact, some of the standard ones were first discovered by people dabbling on their own. The documentation is very good in terms of explaining the fractal types and the mathematics behind their creation. The help is all on-line, but a file can be created by executing the command FRACTINT MAKEDOC=FRACTINT.DOC If you want to learn more about fractals and create your own fractals like those below, download FRACTINT!!
